Tandy Leather, founded in 1919, is the premier distributor of leather and related products to customers worldwide. Our product lines consist of leather, leatherworking tools, buckles and adornments for belts, leather dyes and finishes, saddle and tack hardware, and do-it-yourself kits. At this time Tandy Leather operates retail and wholesale stores in 41 states and 4 countries.


We are currently seeking experienced, enthusiastic, career-minded Managers-In-Training (MIT) to join our team.  If you have superior leadership skills, operational excellence and can increase sales and profitability while managing a dynamic sales team, this could be the position for you.  The MIT program requires relocation after a 3-6 month training program. 


Responsibilities of the MIT requires strong initiative and self-direction.  A high degree of “selling”, whether of ideas and policies with the organization, or products or services in the marketplace.  The job environment is fast paced and results-oriented.  A self-confident, extroverted style that can enliven, engage and positively impact individuals and groups is essential.  The ability to understand, quickly react and motivate others to adapt to the changing organization is a critical key to success.


Successful graduates of the MIT program will be charged with the opportunity to run their own store location.  Responsibilities of the Store Manager include recruiting, hiring, training, performance management, store operations, store merchandising, inventory management, directing and maximizing sales, and customer service.


Qualifications Required

·         1+yrs retail and/or management experience

·         Must be 18yrs of age or older

·         Must have a high school diploma

·         Must be willing to relocate


Relocation Requirements

·         Upon completion of 3-6 months training

·         Relocation expenses are paid for by the company
